Igbos can never forget Biafra- Ikedife

Dr. Dozie Ikedife has insisted that the
spirit of Biafra will continue to live even
when those that participate in the civil war
die
– The IPOB leader said the treatment Igbos
received during the civil war gingered them
to pursue secession
– He said the sit-at-home protest was a
success and an indication of the strength of
Biafra
Dr. Dozie Ikedife who is the former president
general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has said that
the treatment Igbos received during the civil
war will not make them forget their agitation
for Biafra.
There has been a renewed agitation for the
secession of the country especially since
President Muhammadu Buhari took over
power.
Dozie Ikedifesaid said the spirit of Biafra will
continue to live
The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) that
has been at the forefront for the
actualisation of Biafra staged at stay-at-
home protest calling for a referendum to
decide the fate of the Igbo people although
this was rejected by the president who said
in the US that there would be no
referendum.

Today reports that Ikedife said the president
is day-dreaming by saying he would not call
for referendum and thinking the people will
jettison their agitation.
Ikedife who is the deputy chairman of the
supreme council of IPOB said the horror of
the civil war was too much for Igbo people
to forget.
How can we forget Biafra when the life of
every Igbo man was reduced to worth only 20
pounds, and some of us refused to collect our
own till date?
“How can we forget Biafra when the
reconciliation, rehabilitation and reintegration
were declared after the war and the first step
was to go to Lagos and rebuild the Third
Mainland Bridge?
How can we forget Biafra when up till this
day, the second Niger Bridge has not been
constructed?

“How can we forget Biafra when for 30 months
our territory was landlocked and we watched
our children die of starvation? Tell us how we
can forget Biafra? Tell President Buhari that
we will never forget Biafra. Never!”
He noted that the sit-at-home protest was a
success and said even if all those that
participated in the Biafra war died, the
ideology will still continue to live in the
children.
Ikedife said there was compliance “not for
fear of being molested, but to express their
genuine quest and demand for self
determination.”
